Four boy's one loud playdate....

Today I took my boys to our friend's house to hang out, take pictures and have dinner... well we had a great time and a whole lot of commotion. It looked beautiful outside but it was freezing, then the sun was shining too much for pictures and so we all went inside tried it out some more and then the boys were just all hyper and running around. Summer could not get here faster.

My friend Jennifer is a scrapbook er and wanted some new picture's to work with. I snapped a few good one's and can't wait to see them all done. I would like to try a project for myself..

So I set up a student/pro/camera club account to have my picture's developed. I am quite excited about it and sent my first order in tonight. I can't wait to see the quality that it will be. Anyways here are a few pic's from today, and I will be doing some more tomorrow....see you then.

Movin on up...

Well it has been a very busy week for me and my family... Out of nowhere we have decided to sell our house. I have been busting my butt all week and amazed what you can do when you are motivated... We have lived in our home for almost five years (the average length of time someone stays in a home is 4.5 years) so we fall right into the statistic. We really love our home and have put allot of work into it as well as had our two boys here. It will be very sad but fingers crossed we hope to sell... We've grown out of it...

Today was my second photography class and I feel like I've learned allot already and wishing I would have payed attention in math, there seems to be some mathematical skill with taking pictures with the shutter and aperture... Who knew.

Taking the class has come in handy and I've taken all my own picture's to use for the sale of our home... There's gotta to be a living with this because it is hard to get it right and it took me a few shots but I think I did it justice. I even hauled out my Denby dinnerware and crystal to make it look like a show home... could be the key... fingers crossed...here's a look...

Too many to choose...

Tonight I did my first family shoot and I think that it went very well... It was a beautiful evening, I could not of
asked for better sunlight. I decided to try out the manual settings and to my surprise what I learned in class sunk in...It was a great experience and I cant wait until everything is green and summer is in full swing...

The girls were great little subjects but by the end I think they were done...I'm so used to taking pictures of my boy's, so it was a nice change. Don't worry I will post plenty of them still but I sure and looking forward to shooting more session's with other families. It's alot of work getting your picture taken, Mom and Dad did great. Not too many people like to have a camera their face for an hour...thanks guy's...I hope you like your photo's... Here's a sneak peak...

Something I should of done 10 years ago...

I started my four week (Saturday's) Photography class today. I was all excited, thought I knew where it was got to the location with time to spare and then realized I had the wrong address and was on the wrong side of the river and 16 minutes to get there. Needless to say I was late, felt like high school all over again for a split second...

It was very interesting and the first thing the Instructor said was "Photography is half technical and all the rest is artistic and you have to have an eye for it and if you don't it does not matter how well you know the camera" I was glad to hear this because, I feel like I have that part down...talk to me in four weeks when the class is over, maybe me and my camera will be better friends. We mostly played around with our setting's and was surprised and found myself thinking in class how far technology has come and that what I can do just by pushing a button someone use to have to change their camera completely....

The evening sun was shining.....

Today was a busy day. My husband and I were out of the house nice and early and with two small kids it's not that easy, but somehow were always on time...

The weather was pretty nice today and gets nicer as May approaches but then you think it should be nicer...I was all over today, the bank, did some shopping, my Mom's house (I go there often) and to the park with my boys. We met up with one of our good friends, had a coffee and let the boys play. Some how Oliver always seems to get wet and dirty. I snapped a few pics at the park but was not feeling it so I put the camera away for the rest of the day until tonight. The light that the sun was creating as it went down 7:45pm was beautiful. Lucky for me I had my camera and got some pretty nice shots of my boys and their Auntie Courtney...Here's a peek!

Easter Monday at the Zoo...

Today my family and I went to our local zoo for Easter Monday. It was an overcast day, but the sun poked out a few time's. Oliver, my 3 year old loves it there. We hold a annual pass and try and go weekly now that the weather is nice. It is a great little zoo and I love the fact that he can run and I don't have to chase after him....he knows where most of the animal's are and has his favorite's.

Our zoo always has special event's on holiday's and usually has a little craft area so we had fun making butterfly wings and a little bucket with a handle. It was busier than normal and we are so used to just strolling around without all the commotion.

It was a great opportunity to try out my new lens. 55-200mm telephoto, not too big but it sure is fun to take photo's with.

Hello all.....Here we go...

I am 29 and finally know what I want to be... It seems like you are forced to decide when you are young but who really know's. I find a calm and contentment when I take photo's, that's when you know. I love taking them, editing them and I have the two most beautiful subject's. I am a Mom to 2 boys, 3 1/2 year old and 7 month old. When I had my children I did not leave any sort of a career behind, in a weird way I'm okay with that because I can focus on my kids.

Always having a camera with me, but just recently upgrading to a NikonD60, and recently a telephoto lens, I find myself wanting more. I love the challenge of taking photo's for other's and making them smile when they see there own beautiful loved one's after I'm done.

I have lots to learn and have a wonderful network of people that give me encouragement whenever they can. So here we go. Maybe by blogging I will see how I grow as a photographer.

I Choose this as my career.
